Employee Ownership

Optimat becomes an employee owned business after setting up an Employee Ownership Trust.

We are pleased to announce that, today, Optimat became an employee owned business after setting up an Employee Ownership Trust for our staff.  We all believe that this is an important step in ensuring the long term stability of our business, enabling us to build on the strong track record we have established over the last 28 years.  As an employee-owned business we have become part of a growing number of companies, which are characterised by higher productivity and greater levels of innovation.

This change formalises the high level of employee participation in our business decisions over recent years and ensures continuity in our activities going forward.  Angus Hunter, who set up Optimat in 1989 and has led the company since then, is passing the role of managing director to Iain Weir and Deborah Creamer has been appointed as a director.  Angus remains as a director and will continue to make a significant contribution to Optimat in the future, focusing on delivering projects and using his experience and insight to guide the business going forward.  Ian Morgan, however, has chosen to leave the company to pursue his interest in technology based businesses.

We are confident that these changes will ensure that we continue to deliver high quality consultancy to all our clients in the future – to quote the French critic and journalist, Alphonse Karr, “plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose”.
